Tiny Little Ember is a 2D puzzle platformer designed to answer 1 question: Can we create a resource management game with only 1 resource?
Therefore, the gameplay consists of gaining and spending Fuel to traverse through levels. Fuel is versatile. It's the HP, the mana, and the EXP. While playing through the game, the player will learn to creatively solve puzzles, while honing shrewder resource management skills.
Prototyped a vertical slice and recruited a team of 4 to produce a fully functional demo in 2 weeks
Formulated a tight pipeline with day-to-day deadlines, to maximize productivity, while being flexible enough for complications
Implemented a custom physics engine to incorporate momentum and fluid jumps
Designed 17 levels, each properly paced to maintain player flow after many iterations and usability testing
